December, 2006 Membership Meeting Highlights
PRESENTATION
How It Was. How It Is. How I Wish It Could Be.
Presented by Robert Hahn, PhD.
The information covered will be a look at how life was in the past, how life is as an Auditor and trainer today, and how I wish life could be for all. This will be Bob’s light hearted view of the world of International Standards. Bob has visited many, many facilities in North America, where has seen all levels of ISO compliance both good and not so good. Bob will address the current state of ISO systems, as well as his wish for the future. Bob’s homespun wit will make this an enjoyable presentation for all, regardless of their knowledge of ISO systems.PRESENTATION

Kaizen and Carnegie: How to Improve the Process and Still Have Friends.
Presented by Jim Sealey of Dale Carnegie-St. Louis
You are the change agent, continuous improvement champion, lean integrator and possibly the most hated person on earth. What have you done to go from saving the plant and maybe the company to hated villain? In this short 30 minutes Jim Sealey will arm you with the human relation tools to survive a ten step Kaizen event with at least one friend. The step by step method could allow you to walk through dark alleys again.Presented by Jim Sealey of Dale Carnegie-St. Louis

During Jim’s tenure the company has risen to the top twenty percent of all Dale Carnegie Franchises worldwide. His staff has expanded to include twenty five professional trainers and consultants, from various areas of expertise. Besides Fred Weber, Dale Carnegie is a training partner to companies like, Boeing, Monsanto, Pfizer, Emerson, Bausch and Lomb and Union Pacific Railroad, to name a few. Since Jim’s acquisition of the franchise, hundreds of local and international firms have sent in excess of 3,000 employees through Dale Carnegie locally.
In his corporate consulting experience Jim has participated in several Kaizen events, continuous improvement programs and strategic planning projects. His involvement in these organization’s projects have helped them move past human relations obstacles and achieve breakthrough results.
