Assistant Plant Manager/Lean Coordinator - St. Louis

The Gund Company is one of the nation's largest fabricator/distributors of thermoset composite materials and we are currently looking for an Assistant Plant Manager/Lean Coordinator at our St. Louis, Missouri facility.

This individual will be responsible for managing and directing supervisors, hourly personnel through delegation, coaching, and team leadership on the second shift. Main hours (Mon-Fri 1 pm - 10:30 pm), Saturday as necessary.

Duties

• Review and suggest process improvements to ensure good manufacturing practices are followed.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices.
• Analyze variances to goals and develop action plans and countermeasures to correct shortfalls.
• Manage planning function to meet production and forecast labor and material costs.

Job Qualifications

• B.S. Industrial Engineering with 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a high speed manufacturing operation.
• Knowledge of Quality Concepts (i.e. SPC, TQM, JIT) and Quality Systems (i.e. Six Sigma)
• Knowledge of standard shop equipment (i.e. CNC, punch press, etc).
• Well-organized, self-starter who is self-motivated with excellent communication skills and a strong sense of urgency, PC skills, including experience using MS Word, Outlook, Excel Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Must be able to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both your supervisor and shop floor personnel to understand assignments and to provide process-related feedback.
• Experience with world class manufacturing techniques helpful.
