Director of Clinical Data Management – Wheaton Fransciscan Healthcare

Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare currently has an opening for a Director of Clinical Data Management and Analysis. This position provides oversight and coordination of all aspects of external, public, and payer based reporting within Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare (WFH), serves as expert resource within WFH on the topics of clinical data management and analysis, works collaboratively with leaders throughout the system to ensure accuracy and timeliness of data, and assists leaders with the analysis of clinical data to drive performance improvement activities.

Major areas of responsibility include:
  • Ensuring that Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare provides accurate and timely clinical data to meet regulatory and other external reporting requirements
  • Providing oversight and coordination for clinical data management and analysis activities, including, but not limited to, public reporting initiatives, payer specific reporting programs, and service line specific reporting
  • Directing the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Data Department including general supervisory activities and budget management
  • Serving as a coach, consultant, and expert resource within WFH on the topics of clinical data management and analysis, clinical measures, and external/public/payer-based reporting requirements. Stays current on emerging and changing reporting requirements
  • Working collaboratively with leaders to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all collected data. Provides analysis and/or consultation to assist leaders in understanding and utilizing their clinical data to drive performance improvement and improve the quality of care within their area.
This position requires:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Masters preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge in the areas of measurement and data analysis, performance excellence, continuous quality improvement, healthcare processes, facilitation, coaching, and team building.
  • Knowledge of healthcare public/external reporting
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze data and turn data into information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all organizational levels in a Values-based environment.
  • Proven ability to provide an exceptional level of customer service.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of hospital information system structures, medical terminology, and basic statistical concepts.
