Director of Quality - Conley & Company
ORGANIZATION
Our client is a closely held, private, family-owned manufacturing business headquartered in St. Louis, MO. The company is financially sound, conservative by nature and dynamic in its growth. Currently, over $300MM in sales and with over 1500 employees, the company is global in scope, with manufacturing and/or assembly in the US, UK, China and Mexico.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The position reports to the President and has significant interaction with Engineering and Manufacturing business heads.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The selected candidate will serve as the corporate quality leader and counselor for the President and Operations Team on all quality matters. Responsibilities include leading and facilitating Customer Quality Feedback Request, managing the receiving inspection process and the supplier development process; managing quality control through monitoring and audit; and overseeing the ISO 9001 certification and associated activities. The position has approximately 16 direct reports and significant influence through the matrix management infrastructure.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Electrical Engineering degree with a minimum 10 years of quality experience in an ISO manufacturing environment and 5 years at a senior manager level in Quality with multi-site responsibility.
- Six-Sigma, Black Belt certification preferred.
- Experience with overseas sourcing, supply chain, new product development and manufacturing. Must understand final assembly/integration and configuration, production testing protocols and both in-circuit and functional testing.
- Experience with a broad range of electronic, mechanical and electromechanical components, materials and manufacturing processes (e.g. PCBA, injection molded plastics, motors).
- Experience with Asian suppliers with understanding of supplier and parts approval process, engineering qualification testing, and incoming inspections
- Experience participating in new product introductions (NPI).
- Knowledgeable of ERP and MRP systems, such as AS400, Oracle, etc.
- Knowledgeable of Engineering Documentation Systems, such as Agile. Understands the ECO process and CCB to ensure that design changes are properly implemented and change control integrity is maintained. Experience in application of SPC tools for analyzing and interpreting data and trends.
- Strong project management and facilitation skills to manage NPI and continual improvement initiatives in a cross functional setting.
- Thorough understanding of problem solving, failure analysis and closed-loop corrective actions.
- Foreign language proficiency a plus (Mandarin Chinese or Spanish)
